The thing about twitter is the community. When I share that I’m waiting at a bus stop, one of my followers may be doing the same thing, at the next stop.
I just tweeted that I’d added a large file to a client repository, so what? who cares? But there may be someone who knows how to remove that large file from the repository.
Another Twitter user I follow posted something about the Time method working well. I asked what it was, and learnt that they work 50 minutes then take an enforced break for 10 minutes. It’s a strategy I’ve heard of that I’m going to try based on this person getting good productivity from it.
The many people who say they don’t see the point of tweeting every “unimportant” aspect of your life are ignorant. They are the ones who when you talk to them will quickly cut off your story so they can start telling theirs.
New rule of marketing is LISTEN. There are ears out on twitter waiting, listening to hear your question. The people with those ears understand that listening and responding to a need will get results. Pushing your message out to whoever follows you just isn’t effective.
