Terrifying Bush Fire

I’ve just seen a video of a bush fire approaching someone’s house in Victoria (on smh.com.au).  The video is 4 minutes long, and there was a voice over (added later) of the guy who took the video explaining what was happening.

Within 4 minutes, the fire went from being off in the distance to spot fires on this guys front lawn.  There was a sound like wind rushing.  The fire seemed to be getting closer, but you didn’t realise just how fast until it was on this guys lawn.

Unless you knew what you were doing, you would be toast.

People talk about it, but unless you see it, you just can’t appreciate how terrifying a bushfire rushing towards you really is.

Do I want to live in the bush?  No way.
