It always bugs me the default location of the previous post button in blogs like this and wordpress. It’s on the left hand side, which makes sense when you consider that the page you are looking at is the last ‘page’ of the book you are writing… except the homepage really should be the FRONT of a book, not the back.
Add to that that your posts are in reverse chronological order, and it makes sense that as you go to previous posts, you are going back in history, the logical direction starts getting a bit screwed up in my head.
If we look at it like each post is a card, and we stack the latest post on top of the pile of cards, then picking up the cards and flipping through them like a book, each page is actually older than the previous page.
stites like twitter have the navigation right from my point of view, but I actualy think they have the chronological order stuffed up. As I read down the page, I want to be reading newer and newer posts. I regularly scroll to the bottom of a twitter page and read upwards because then the conversation stream makes sense.
So, after all that, I don’t think I’m being the least bit clear.
